Derbyshire Pasties

Entrees, Sides, & Soups: Entrees

A traditional hand meat pie inspired by the Cornish Pasty. It's filled with ground beef, carrots, peas, onion, potatoes and British spices. This package comes with 4 frozen pasties. Just one can be very filling so I recommend 1 per serving with loads of gravy. Sold frozen with reheat instructions on packaging.USA / Indiana / Hamilton County

ground beef, carrots, peas, onions, potatoes, worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, rosemary, sage, garlic powder, flour, butter

Q: The reheat instructions do not specify whether to put them in the oven frozen or to thaw first. Could you please clarify? And if they need to be thawed first, what is the best way to thaw - in the fridge or on the counter?

A: '1. From Frozen - reheat them by placing each one in the microwave for 2-3 mins to thaw it (be careful it will be very hot when taking it out of the microwave) then finish in a preheated oven at 375F for 5 mins to re-crisp the outside. 2. From Thawed (thaw in the fridge over night - at least 12 hours) - then reheat in preheated oven (375F) for 8-10 mins. Hope this helps to clarify the instructions.'

Q: Thanks for bringing this back! My mother was from Cornwall and made pasties every week. Frankly, yours are better. (She put rutabaga in hers. Please don't try this.)

A: 'I'm so glad you like them. I've had the traditional ones too, I can relate not to liking rutabaga or turnip in it. '
