Q: Thank you, thank you, thank you! When initially I wrote, I was looking at the back of the unopened package, trying to work up the courage to begin the mixing process, squinting through my bifocals, and realized I was in deep (lack of understanding) trouble. Once I read your response, I confidently opened the package, realized everything was ready/pre-prepped and created the most amazing Bundt Lemon Cake with a lovely cream cheese filling. *My husband was quite impressed! :-) Thank you so much for the guidance.

A: 'Your very welcome! Glad you and your husband enjoyed the cake and that you found the bake mix less daunting than originally though.'

Q: I should have looked closer when ordering... I thought I was getting a fully made cake. Having said that (my bad), I’m looking over the directions and I’m a tad confused (not surprising from someone who orders a cake mix expecting a baked cake, LOL). The directions read, 2. In a mixing bowl... cream butter and sugar... this is confusing because of 4 ingredients listed, sugar is not one of them. < insert quizzical look here> Please advise... are directions 2-3 applicable to the cake [not the drizzle], and if so, how much sugar should be creamed into the butter? Sincerely, NoviceBaker (who should leave baking to the pros)

A: 'There is 3 separate cake ingredient mixes in the bag, one should be labeled cake sugar, cake mix or glaze sugar. You cream the "Cake sugar" with the butter first then add the lemon zest, and eggs. Then add the "Cake mix" and a little milk if the batter isn't completely smooth. As for the "Glaze sugar" use the powdered sugar provided in the package and mix with either water or lemon juice until its smooth but not too runny to pour over the cooled cake. Let me know if you have any other issues.'
