Red Frazier Bison is located on over 200 acres in the rolling hills of Greene County and is home to a growing herd of North American Bison, also called buffalo. The ranch is operated by a group of friends with a passion for nature, bison, hard work, and providing a quality product to their community. They are committed to growing the bison population the way nature intended - free of growth hormones, steroids, and artificial reproduction practices. Left to their natural instincts, bison are highly adaptable and extremely rugged which is largely responsible for their steadily growing population.
Bison meat is a lean, tender, and nutrient-dense meat. Its natural flavors and sweeter taste make it an easy substitute in any red-meat recipe. Bison is high in iron and protein and low in fat and cholesterol. It is not gamey, and is easy to prepare with a few simple cooking tips. Because it is so lean, bison cooks about a third quicker than what most people are used to with beef. If overcooked, it can dry out, which is why we do not recommend cooking it past a medium cooking temperature. Low and slow or hot and fast are always good tips when preparing bison.
Red Frazier Bison is proud to be participating in the restoration of an American icon. Bison once sustained families for hundreds of years and are again poised to become the source of a sustainable, healthy, and delicious meat for generations of families to come.
