Bluegrass Belties Farm & Orchard is owned and operated by USAF retired veteran James and Katie Martin-Sorrell alongside their 3 children Broedy, Whitley, and Reece. Nestled in the rolling hills of north central Kentucky, all members of this hard working family manage the farm, which includes a small herd of Crafted Composite Belted Cattle, a diverse Pome and Stone fruit orchard, kitchen, and bakery.
It is important to the Martin-Sorrell family to provide the most natural / freshest food possible to people who can't produce their own but wish to have a closer relationship with their food producer. In 2014, Bluegrass Belties joined the Kentucky Proud Homegrown for Heroes Program and works with other veteran farmers locally and across the country. About the Cattle, We have used several breeds of cattle to bring our belted cattle to a smaller size that are hardy, docile, small and have a consistent meat quality. We are making our own Composite breed of Belted Cattle. Also breed, raise and maintain a flock of laying hens that lay colors of eggs for white though chocolate. Color hues of peach, greens, & light blues are the most notable.
About the Orchard We have many varieties of Apples, Pears, Peaches, Plum, and Berries. to make delicious tasting products for you to enjoy.
