About
Situated along Big Bear Creek in the hills of Floyd and Washington Counties in southern Indiana, we are the 7th generation of Hein and Marshall families to farm the Bear Creek Cattle land since the 1870's. Today, 4 generations live on the farm.
Bear Creek Cattle beef is grass-fed and grain-finished Angus and Angus cross-bred for consistently rich, tender and marbled meat. We do not use hormones or antibiotics. Our father raised and sold Christmas trees and beef cattle for 52 years. December was always exciting as we welcomed multiple generations to the farm for the annual ritual of choosing and cutting the family Christmas tree. Today the farm is devoted to beef cattle and although we miss the visitors we understand the migration to e-commerce. This year's challenges have created opportunities and learning for the younger generation. They have a greater appreciation for beef marketing challenges, processing bottlenecks, and supply chain disruptions. We can also learn from them as they prefer e-commerce and Market Wagon !!!
