Todd and Loretta Benjamin currently own and operate Walnut-Vu Farm located in Webberville, MI. They are the sixth generation to live and work the families centennial farm since 1838. The couple bought the farm from Todd's parents, Bob and Joyce Benjamin in 1998. At that time the farm was home to 200 Holstein milking cows. Breeding registered Holsteins was a passion for Todd. The herd won numerous production records, as well as show records. Todd and Loretta began raising Holstein steers almost immediately after selling the milking herd in 2003. They raised 4-6 steers a year for their own use as well as selling whole, half or quarters to friends and family. In the summer of 2018, the Todd and Loretta along with their son and daughter-in-law Dan and Cassity, and daughter and son-in-law Cassie and Ryan, developed a plan to raise 30+ steers and start a business raising and selling beef on a larger scale. Today the herd is up to 100. Benjamin Beef supplies ground beef to the Pub at Old Nation Brewery in Williamston Michigan and to Noah's Nook in Webberville Michigan.
