About

Welcome to Lost Ash Ridge Farm located in the beautiful rolling hills of southeastern Shelby County, Kentucky.
Our farm family consist of 100% Berkshire hogs, 100% Galloway cattle, Freedom Ranger broiler chickens, Heritage Bourbon Red turkeys and egg laying hens along with "Marshall" and "Archer", our two Great Pyrenees guard dogs.
*Our Mission: To Provide People with the Healthiest Choice of Food Products by using Environmentally Sound and Humane Practices
*All livestock are antibiotic, growth hormone and steroid free
*Our Berkshire hogs roam the woodlands foraging on hickory, acorn and walnuts -supplemented with NON-GMO feed from Bagdad Roller Mills. From artificially inseminating each gilt/sow, delivering all piglets and taking to the butcher is all done by me "Bob". I care for everyone of these critters, in with every pig every day, rubbing behind their ears, belly and especially the jaw, oh my how that feels so darn good. I take pride in how these Berkshire are raised, no corners cut, just ain't right to do that. You'll taste the difference from a naturally raised hog vs factory farming.
*Our Galloway cattle are grass fed and grass finished on pesticide and herbicide free pastures with Red Clover and Orchard grass. John Boy our herd bull takes care looking over his herd whether be his cows or calves. What a stock of cattle these are, some of the best genetics in the entire country. Excellent in their ability to self birth (never ever had to pull one) to which the entire herd becomes protective of that new born, it's really something to see how these gentle cattle become so protective. Galloway's are an old breed dating back past the days of Rome, always known for their ability to have perfect marbled beef which wins hands down year after year in best quality of beef. Why go with 2nd best?
*Our Freedom Ranger broiler chickens are raised in pastures in conjunction with the Galloway cattle, a partnership that benefits both livestock and soil-Every evening I pull each portable chicken pen to a new area of grass and red clover, fill the water bucket up along with the feed trough with NON-GMO Brumley Natural Chick Starter which supplements their feed. Provided by Bagdad Feed Mill.
*Our Heritage Bourbon Red turkeys roam, scratch and peck grass and woodlands for what nature offers-supplemented with NON-GMO feed from Bagdad Feed Mill. These guys are seasonal with the bulk coming at Thanksgiving.
