OUR STORY
We started the Big O’ Smokehouse in Caledonia, Michigan in 1997.
Throughout the many years since, we have committed to producing the best smoked products available. At Big O’,
only the highest quality, freshest ingredients are used. Our fish are sourced from local fisheries when possible, and
we support sustainable fishing practices by utilizing ocean-raised salmon for many of our products. Our modern
smokehouse uses natural hardwood smoke to ensure the right amount of smoke is produced for each product.
We consider it an art, not a science.
At Big O’ Smokehouse, we are HACCP certified and we continue to be regularly inspected to insure wholesomeness.
All labeling requirements are handled so that you don’t have to worry about complying with regulations. We also have
state and FDA variance approvals for packaging to ensure a longer shelf-life.
Here at Big O’ Smokehouse, we provide you with high quality, naturally smoked fish and meat products. With a
combined 5 generations working in the seafood industry and 20 years of smoking experience, we have learned a thing
or two. We do things the right way, never the easy way. We have a tight group of employees and consider them family.
The Big O’ family is committed to knowing you on a first name basis. Whether it’s for your meat counter, gourmet jerky
shop, local party store, or large supermarket, we have a product for you.
