About
Hidden Hills Farm is located just outside of Columbia, SC in Leesville. Our farm offers pasture-raised chicken, pork, and eggs. We do not use any growth hormones or antibiotics. We offer local pickup options as well as shipping of select products.
Four principles govern how we do things on the farm:
Humane practices – This is the core of what we do, and we strive to differentiate ourselves in this. Our job is outside with our birds and livestock where our constant interactions allow us to learn from them and create an environment where their needs are met in a natural setting. It also allows us to respond to the constant challenges farms face such as extreme temperatures, drought, etc. We attribute our success to our “animal welfare first” approach. We believe all animals should be treated with respect and care, especially the ones we are raising to be food.
Environment – Our goal is to master regenerative practices and produce the best quality soil and forage we can for our animals. We are in our third season of rotational farming and are already seeing our farm bounce back and come to life.
Healthy – For several years we benefited from eating local, pastured meats and produce and personally experienced the profound effects it had on our health and quality of life. Now we work to produce these products and to educate consumers as to why this is so crucial to our future.
Flavor – We believe that food should taste good. We think most of what an animal does in its everyday life affects the end product—its health benefits as well as its flavor. We are constantly aware of this in our daily practices. While we agree that we are what we eat eats, we also believe we are what we eat and how it lives.
