Funk Family Farm

Freeburg, IL

About

Located at the crossroads of Scott AFB, Mascoutah, and Freeburg our small family farm has been in continuous operation and family ownership for almost two centuries. After several combat deployments and almost two decades of service in the military Joel decided it was time in 2019 to transition from army aviator to sixth generation farmer.

Joel was inspired by the resurgence in locally sourced and produced food and efforts to solve environmental and economic problems with innovative and sustainable solutions. With these goals and guiding principles set he began his journey into regenerative agriculture in 2020.

Gabby and Joel founded Funk Family Farm, LLC in the summer of 2021. We are a 100% veteran owned company and have been hard at work building and expanding operations. We are a licensed Illinois egg producer and are selling the eggs of our mixed flock of 400 chickens, ducks, and guineas both on and off farm. With your patronage and support we hope to expand our operations and products in 2022. In the meantime we hope you enjoy the quality and value our work and care bring to your table.
